KNIGHTY AND PHYLLIS - a partnership made in heaven?

You've all heard of Tom and Jerry, Jason and Kylie, Dempsey and Makepeace, Hinge and Bracket, well the Andover Wheelers have a new pairing to give the established partnerships some trouble, we would like to introduce in the red corner Knighty and Phyllis the new dynamic duo.

The duo set a blistering pace at the recent Salisbury 10 on the P613, in very windy conditions and in only their second Tandem ride together, with the wind blowing the pair from Thruxton speeds of 42mph were seen and the turn slip road was crossed in exactly 9 mins that must be 33mph, the turns were taken very steady due to the rain, even with the tip toe around and that return leg headwind, they managed to cross the line in 20.09 just short of 30mph ave, with Ian Ayliff doing "only" a 21.48, there are some good things to come for a "float" night.

Look out for some fallouts between these 2 just like Tommy Lee Jones and Pamela Anderson there will be fireworks, but definitely no videos, (that would be shocking), when these occur look out for a star performance from Lucy Hepworth, calm down Stu T you are married!!!!, Lucy has hinted that she will start to do some training soon and wants to win the ten pound bet from Paul and Jonny M.

The anatomy of the "normal" tandem owner

1. All tandem owners are loners who feel they have a close friend even if just for 20mins
2. All tandem owners crave attention of others, lets face you cant miss 2 plonkers riding a race that close together.
3. All tandem owners have little or no social skills
4. All tandem owners are generally unfit and rely on their partners for help
5. All tandem owners live in the past and remember the old days when they could spin a 64'' fixed at 35mph
6. All tandem owners have little sense of direction that's why they have someone on the back to help find their way around
7. All tandem owners hate stopping, as they are all overweight, the brakes on their machines will not stop in excess of 26 blubbery stone very quickly.
8. All tandem owners blame others for the poor performance, the normal excuse "they just weren't pushing that hard on the back"
9. All tandem owners consider the gear we were using was just not big enough we must get a 62 ring.
10. All tandem owners hate modern bike shops as they only sell that weird solo stuff, they just don't cater for the larger bikes

And lastly the myth about Daisy had better not be true, the author of this has only ever met 1 person called Daisy, she was a 60 yr old transexual that worked in British Aerospace in Bristol, weird thing looked just like an old man with a pony tail and scared the hell out of me as a 20 yr scaffold rigger!!!!!!!!!
