Club Annual Dinner and Prize
Giving, by John Martin -
That's it for another year. The
club diner brought the 2001 season to a more than satisfactory conclusion with
some excellent cross toasting and good humoured banter.....entertainment, who
needs it!
I personally think the date
change for the dinner is a good thing as everybody is still "buzzy"
from the season with events still fresh in the mind and keen to plan their
winter programme.
The re - appearance of Phil
Jacobs shop sign was a particularly fine moment presented for being 'best tea
stop ,' and you can't argue with that! In fact I don't think I have ever been
in that shop when there hasn't been another wheeler in there! Whilst on the
subject, Behind The Bikeshed did us proud with a huge box of goodies for the
raffle and a large discount on the rest of the stuff......., thanks boys.
John Hayles provided an
excellent insight into Robs career and track racing in general whilst giving
Ian Knight some invaluable information on winter training!
Some general gossip from the
evening includes John Fosters threat to start riding / racing his bike again
next year and Ian Knight buying.

riders receiving prizes. Click on the small picture to see it full size:
